Cryonaut is proud to launch the Alpha, a culmination of years dedicated to refining the design of lyophilizers. This state-of-the-art freeze dryer is engineered to surpass existing market standards, marking a significant leap in quality and performance. Proceeds from the Alpha will pave the way for our vision: manufacturing compact, affordable machines designed for true domestic use.

Although currently listed as "Pre-order," we've already manufactured several units during a pilot run for local testers. Anticipating the demand and ensuring we source the appropriate quantity of components may implicate a brief delay of a few weeks. As a new company on the market, it's not feasible for us to bulk order high-cost items such as vacuum pumps. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

To express our gratitude, early purchasers will receive a complimentary industrial pump valued at over 1600$ CAD (~1200 USD), a much superior alternative over the regular vacuum pump that will be included in the future.

Canadian Engineering

Developped in Québec, Canada using premium industrial components, sourced globally from renowned manufacturers in Canada, Germany, China, Japan and the USA.

Diverse Applications

Available in three distinct shelves models:

  • 5 Trays (Standard - 0.5 SQM)

  • 4 Trays (0.4 SQM): Tailored for candy makers seeking swelling beyond 4 cm of height.

  • 1 Tray Box Model: Designed for processing larger objects, catering to taxidermists, florists, decorative artists, and various engineering purposes.

Contact us by email with your order ID for choice of the shelves, or receive the default 5 Trays unit.

The standard 5 tray model (0.1 SQM each), featuring white heating elements to expose any contamination

    Uncompromised Quality

    • Stainless Steel Vacuum Lines
100% stainless steel, food-grade vacuum lines ensures ease of sanitation and durability.

    • Industry-Standard Vacuum Connectors
Featuring only KF flanges (KF25,KF16) designed specifically for food grade vacuum applications. We don't use threaded connections on any parts subject to vacuum. Notably, the KF connections are user-friendly and allows rapid system modifications. Connecting external drying chambers like vacuum ovens becomes much easier.

    • GTM Feedthrough
Aerospace grade glass-to-metal sealed wiring feedthrough eclipses competitors' handmade epoxy solutions, minimizing vacuum leak risks.

    • 36 Volt Heaters
Competitors using 110v AC in their heated shelves are often not compliant with north american electrical codes. Fire and electrocution hazards are significant. The risk factor is more severe with those using 220v units. We reduce our voltage to 36 Volts to prevent this.

    • Heavy 30mm Acrylic Door
Competitors doors have been known to implode due to insufficient thickness against the high vacuum involved in the freeze drying process. It also features a robust stainless steel hinge custom made for this machine.

    • Vacuum Check Valves
Pharmaceutical grade KF25 check valves. A mandate for commercial food sale compliance, notably absent in many competitor models that have been known to suffer food contamination from vacuum pump oil.

    • Vacuum Line filtering
Incorporates strainers and optional in-line filters, ensuring vacuum pump longevity by preventing food particles from being sucked into it.

    • Fused & Protected Electrical Wiring
While this should be standard in any machine built in North America, the race for affordable freeze dryers has led many manufacturers to neglect basic electrical safety practices.

    • Heavy Refrigeration Insulation
In order to consistently achieve the extremely low temperatures required for the freeze drying process, high grade insulation is required. We went beyond the requirements to ensure reliable operation even in hot environments.

    • Laser-cut Steel Trays
Custom-made to offer better heat distribution and surface contact over our competitors stamped steel trays that tend to warp after a few months of thermal cycling.

    • Solid Steel Frame
Designed around a steel frame rather than interlocked structural panels for longevity, easy repair, and maintenance.

Thick, high grade insulation and quality parts can be seen in our test units. More features are to come in the next production run!

    Technological Advancements

    • AI-Augmented Drying Algorithm
    • Using AI and an elimination process of hundreds of samples, we optimized the drying time for recipes and our automatic (Quickstart) mode.

    • WiFi & Bluetooth Connectivity
Receive smartphone notifications and control your machine remotely with our upcoming app (2024)

    • Custom Recipes & Presets
Catered to specific ingredients to ensure the highest quality drying when automatic mode is not suitable. Such as Candy modes, and for sensitive ingredients like avocado.

    • Efficient Heating System
Individually PID-controlled heating elements that each feature their own solid state relay, reduces peak electric consumption, eliminating the need for dedicated high-power outlets.

    • Temperature Probe
Using a probe that can be inserted directly into food samples, you the machine can know when the drying is truely complete.

    • Capacitive Touchscreen
Accurate touchscreen interface, similar to modern smartphones. The graphical user interface is created by a video-game designer, specifically made for intuitive use without the need for instructions.

    • Strategic Partnership
Collaborating with experts in pharmaceutical lyophilization, and aligning with a renowned lyophilizer manufacturer reinforces our commitment to reliability and quality.

    • Anticipated Features
As we approach the commencement of deliveries, anticipate the unveiling of more exciting additions to our offering. Highlights include our industrial-grade open-source electronics, a whisper-quiet refrigeration system, and a specialized repressurization line, among others. We're keeping some details under wraps for competitive reasons, ensuring a delightful surprise upon delivery. Note that minor finishing touches, like the acrylic backlight for our logo and some non-critical features not present in our test units featured on current pictures, are in the final stages of assembly.

Lastly, what sets Cryonaut apart is our hands-on approach. As a new company, each Alpha machine is meticulously assembled by the very engineers who birthed its design. This assures precision and eliminates the quality discrepancies seen with larger, mass-producing competitors.

With the Alpha, Cryonaut offers not just a product, but a promise of unparalleled industrial excellence.

Take note that the current touchscreen is only a prototype, as the custom screen modules are being produced.
